Today saw Barton United welcome a determined Witney Vikings Hornets side to Barton Park Pavilion Ground today on an unusually warm and sunny October morning.

First Half
Witney started strong, attacking, and defensively blocking some critical through balls, frustrating Barton’s play. Barton getting used a few minor changes working out their game. 9 minutes in and Witney got a break, the player intercepted by two Barton players and were awarded a penalty 0-1 (9mins).

Barton unused to being behind so far this season rallied, with Georgia making the score level 4 mins later 1-1 (13mins). Barton now back in their stride, gaining possession, found space on the left for Sophie to make it 2-1 (17mins).

Halfway through the first half saw Courtney come on to make her debut for the team. Barton, working hard, defending and keeping their composure, saw them breaking through and Georgia score again 3-1 (35 mins)

HT 3-1 (40 mins)

Second Half
The second half got underway, Claudia changing places with Tihana in goal. Again, with Barton keeping composure, playing their game and within the first few minutes Barton were on the attack creating several chances, Kimora making it 4-1 (44 mins).

On the front foot Barton continued to create many chances now, with the fitness to make the runs through being key, Kimora making it 5-1 (52 mins). Barton continued to hold off any Witney counterattack dealing with the tackles and regaining possession. After a super run by Kimora for three quarters of the pitch with the opposition players hardly keeping pace or challenging down the right-wing Kimora made it 6-1 (65 mins).

Barton again straight on the attack with more chances and with another run down the right Kimora scored again to make it 7-1 (77mins).
